Think way back to yesteryear (as in literally one year ago), the bygone days of 2022, when Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were mid-divorce, and Julia Fox briefly dated the musician. There was the Birkin bag he bought her, with matching ones for her besties, and the time he surprised her on a date night by filling her hotel room with a full wardrobe, prompting her to write in Interview magazine that “It was every girl’s dream come true. It felt like a real Cinderella moment.”

That’s not the only Disney-ish thing about that relationship, apparently: Fox told the New York Times in a new interview that her stint with West—now known as Ye—was as sexless as one of the studio’s animated kids movies.

Ahead of her upcoming memoir, Down the Drain, to be published by Simon & Schuster October 10, Fox sat down with the paper for an interview about the process of writing the book—including how she hid the identities of some of her friends. She changed most names in the book, but not those of people who have died because, as she said, “they can’t sue me.”

“I feel like I did a good job at disguising people as much as I could, but obviously people will know,” she said. “If anyone does get upset, I’m going to be very quick to remind them: ‘I went easy on you. I could have done more damage.’”?

Among the more obvious characters in the memoir is Ye, whom she calls “The Artist.” When the Times pointed out that she wrote graphically about sex, but not with Ye, she responded, “Because there, like, wasn’t any. It wasn’t really about that.”

No further elaboration is offered in the published version of the interview. But, in case you’re wondering, she does still have that Birkin.?

“Of course,” Fox confirmed.
